 The resort of Beckenried (435 m) is on the south bank of Lake Lucerne at the foot of the Klewenalp with views of the popular and famous Rigi mountain on the other side of the lake. Near to Beckenried, on the panoramic terrace high above the lake, lie the villages of Emmetten and Seelisberg. Cable-cars provide access to the family-friendly walking and skiing area of Klewenalp and Stockhütte. Activities Winter Activities  The family-friendly skiing area of Klewenalp-Stockhütte offers ten lifts and 30 km of skiing and snowboarding slopes of varying degrees of difficulty, at between 1600 and nearly 2000 m. From the Klewenalp with its ski school, crèche and 15 km of footpaths, the longest sledging run in Central Switzerland, 9 km long with a difference in altitude of 850 m, goes via Stockhütte down to Emmetten. ....................more Winter Activities Summer Activities  The longest cable-car in Central Switzerland takes you from the centre of the village of Beckenried up to the hiking and biking area of Klewenalp-Stockhütte. At the top station of the Klewenalp cable-car (1593 m) is a large children’s playground, a pet’s zoo and a “marmot park”. You can spend the night in the mountain inn or, for a special adventure, in a tepee camp. Our 12 guest rooms are a symbiosis of modern and exclusive comfort as well as troves from long gone times, each one is unique with a cozy personalized style. To our motivated employees we grant a personal platform and give them the possibility to work in professional surroundings. A cultivated service is very important to us, but with an individual note and informal attitude. Top quality products are a matter of course for us, if possible we prefer to use local products. We recognize our business partners as competent partners and maintain a friendly and fair contact with them. Our restaurant has been renovated back to its original warm and cozy atmosphere. Decorated with love and an eye for detail to make our clients feel welcome. It has become a meeting place for young and old, for hard-working workmen and smart bankers, wine lovers and fans of local cider, local characters as well as travelers who stop to have a break on their way to the south. Gourmet Shop The gourmet shop was run from 1928 – 1961 by Paul Murer. At that time the shop was opened daily from 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and even on Sundays for some hours because this was also the milk counter of the upper village. 
 Fat, jam and butter were sold out of big barrels. Petrol, bread and a lot of other local groceries were also on sale here. Different sweets were delivered by the bakeries Käslin und Schlaufer. They delivered also the Ziegerkrapfen for the Ridli-market. Up to 1000 pieces for 30 cents were consumed by the visitors on such a day. One could also buy different pieces of meat, cold cuts and whole loaves of cheese.
